Coming home from Auburn University and preparing for AT!

Updated: Aug 11, 2024

The Spring Transition: April 30—June 2

This post is about the period from when I traveled home from AU, to the point where I participated in my annual 2 week period for the Marine Corps. I served this 2 week period as a weather forecaster reservist (mos code:6842) in the Marine Corps from the period of 06/02/2024 to 06/15/2024 at Bogue, N.C.

Link to that article is here.

I moved home from college as soon as the semester ended to go spend some necessary time with my parents! They were super happy to have me and I was very appreciative of getting to stay home for a while. Plus, I got to adventure all around Downtown Fairhope as well as Mobile before my two weeks at Bogue!

I met many friends and told them how I was getting the great opportunity to practice my abilities with active duty and other reserve Marines for 2 weeks. These are some of the people I love to go see at Fairhope Hemp! They both work there.

I also got the opportunity to pre tour the news room at WKRG 5 before starting the internship there after my Marine Corps AT period!

I attended a free Baldwin Pops concert on Memorial day which celebrated patriots and veterans with their volunteer orchestra. The pieces were moving, and I enjoyed them very much. It was a beautiful ceremony, props to them.

I went to out at downtown mobile some nights too and got to explore, as well as label my piano and check up on my cats,

(I saved four from the woods as kittens). More on that later.

I also made sure to workout on a semi frequent basis so that I could perform perfectly at my AT period and not be lacking physically when in comparison to other Marines. It is good to keep physical fitness up even in times of rest like this one. It is important to make sure I represent females well everywhere I adventure to! When I was done with the silly business and as my AT period was approaching I wanted to ensure I was fully prepared!

More about how I prepared for my AT and what my AT consisted of is in my next post!
